First, Listen.
Listen to the poor, the weak,
the dying, and the oppressed.
Listen to their howls of rage, pain
and grief. And listen to the laughter
from those up high. Monster's in human skin,
fat with money.
Next, Gather.
Gather women, feminist men and children.
No matter their age, religion, skin colour, sexuality
or gender, gather them.
Gather them until there is hardly room to breathe,
and those at the top of the food chain
start quaking at the numbers.
Thirdly, Think.
Think about consequences and costs.
Think about truth and false truths.
Think about hope and hate.
Think about tears and triumphs.
Think about the past, present and future.
Then, Plan.
Plan for protests gone wrong and speeches gone right.
Plan for yellow stars on shop windows
and the simple kindness of washing them off.
Plan for swastikas on walls and symbols of hope
to cover them.
Plan for threats made real and gentle gasps of,
'your okay. Your safe now'.
Plan for breakouts and break in's.
Plan for tragedy’s and traumas, but plan for victories
and healing as well.
Next, Act.
Tear down walls and fences and build bridges instead.
Build a round table and let every one sit on it so that all
voices can help build a web of ideas.
March in the streets and let those who won't listen
hear the roaring waves of change.
Write letters, emails and phone.
Let quiet voices explain why things need to change now.
Celebrate and Commiserate. Scream and Whisper.
Laugh and Cry. Protect and Fight. Rescue and Run.
And remember.
knowledge is power
Words are weapons.
Use them well.
