Crow closed off the mental link between himself and Irodia and rested his head against the solid straw wall behind him, keeping his eyes shut against the rare British sunlight. He would have to unfreeze Sergei soon. That wasn't going to be fun. Sergei would be upset, angry and betrayed and there was nothing Crow hated more than Sergei feeling any of those emotions. He kept his eyes shut a few moments longer in a pathetic attempt to buy himself some more time. Then he opened them to see a pair of beady eyes glaring into his.
After a few tense seconds Crow smirked. "So I take it that you're not going to peck my eyes out then. Good. I rather like them the way they are." Irodia glared some more.
"The only reason your not minus your eyes right now is because one, I can think of a much more painful bit to pick off and two, I'm sure that an angry and betrayed Sergei will cause you far more pain than any form of injury." Crow grimaced, she'd hit the shark right on the nose.
"Well since your so eager to see me in pain", he turned his head to look at the frozen Sergei, "might as well get it over with". He snapped his finger's and Sergei reanimated with a gasp.
Upon reflection Crow realised that perhaps choosing to remain sitting would have been a more prudent than standing up. It probably would have made Sergei less likely to hit him hard enough to give him a black eye at any rate.
"Bastard! You traitorous bastard! 516 years we've been friends. Doesn't that mean anything to you?"
"Why are you so upset? Of course I'm a traitorous bastard, I'm a Guardian of the animal most closely associated with traitors. Don't tell me you never saw this coming?" Sergei's answer was a kiss with his fist on Crow's jaw, which, much to Crow's amazement and grudging admiration, managed to knock him to the floor of the basket. "Okay maybe not" Crow muttered ruefully as his poked his split lip.
"Maybe not!" Sergei laughed mockingly, "well excuse me for getting the wrong impression O Traitorous One, BUT I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS!"
"He does have a point" a Crow remarked from above.
'So that's why they didn't attack Sergei when he punched me. They agree with him. Well, this is going to take some explaining.
